Is this all "normal" and we are just now trying to connect dots and make it something that it isn't....or is the earth continuing to groan as it longs for the Millennium?

Parent #1 and Parent #2

Here we have another "sing of the times"...U.S. passport applications will now drop the terms "mother" and "father" and forever more be replaced with "parent #1" and "parent #2".

The words “mother” and “father” will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, the State Department says.

“The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father,’” said Brenda Sprague, deputy assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services. "They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’"

Sprague said the decision to remove the traditional parenting names was not an act of political correctness.

“We find that with changes in medical science and reproductive technology that we are confronting situations now that we would not have anticipated 10 or 15 years ago,” she said.

Gay rights groups are applauding the decision.

Abortion in NYC

When you read an article like this, it just makes you wonder why God hasn't already come down and destroyed this country. We, as a people, sit by idly while the killing innocent babies happens at an alarming rate.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Eye-opening statistics about the rate of abortions in New York City have been released by the Health Department.

It raises questions about the effectiveness of current birth control education.

41% of all New York City pregnancies end in abortion.

The rate for minorities is even higher.

Both sides say the high abortion percentage is a crisis.

"If 41% of New York babies are aborted, with the percentage even higher in the Bronx and among our African-American babies in the world, it is downright chilling," New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan said.

Planned Parenthood is also not happy about the numbers, but pushes education.

"We believe in comprehensive sex education, which by the way does include abstinence, but abstinence by itself has been proven to be ineffective,"

As reader Mike already pointed out when he sent this article, "How can abstinence not be effective? If you don't have sex...there will be no baby!"

Of course this statistic has a lot to do with the break down of the family, (no dad around to keep his kids in line) the sex-saturated society that we all swim in, the messages these kids are all getting on TV, younger maturing girls, and probably a host of other issues.

But it doesn't change the fact that we are killing babies at an alarming rate.

Aflockalypse

That's the catchy name for the animal die offs..."aflockalypse". However, before you head down in your bunker with your tinfoil hat on and your pistol loaded....you might want to read this article from Christian Science Monitor.

First, the blackbirds fell out of the sky on New Year's Eve in Arkansas. In recent days, wildlife have mysteriously died in big numbers: 2 million fish in the Chesapeake Bay, 150 tons of red tilapia in Vietnam, 40,000 crabs in Britain and other places across the world.

Blogs connected the deadly dots, joking about the "aflockalypse" while others saw real signs of something sinister, either biblical or environmental.

The reality, say biologists, is that these mass die-offs happen all the time and usually are unrelated.

Federal records show they happen on average every other day somewhere in North America. Usually, we don't notice them and don't try to link them to each other.

"They generally fly under the radar," said ornithologist John Wiens, chief scientist at the California research institution PRBO Conservation Science.

So what's happening this time?

Blame technology, says famed Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson. With the Internet, cell phones and worldwide communications, people are noticing events, connecting the dots more.

"This instant and global communication, it's just a human instinct to read mystery and portents of dangers and wondrous things in events that are unusual," Wilson told The Associated Press on Thursday. "Not to worry, these are not portents that the world is about to come to an end."

Personally, I do believe the world is coming to an end, but it's not simply because of a few dead birds....BUT.....I do agree with the fact that technology is making us all jumpy about the supposed increase of radical events happening all over the world.

Think about it; if you lived in Dickinson, ND 70 years ago...would you have known about a 7.5 earthquake that happened in Iran yesterday? Would you know about the 7.0 that happened in Chile the day before? Would you know about 5000 dead birds in Arkansas? How long may it have taken for you to find out about the thousands dead in Haiti?

If you went back 150 years it's quite possible that you would NEVER know about anything that happened anywhere else in the world!

So while I am a major proponent of connecting dots of prophetic things that are happening...not EVERYTHING that happens is part of an Illuminati or One-World-Order master plan to take over the world.

Babylon Rising

Many of you probably recieve Joel Rosenberg's updates. Today we got this from Joel;

(Washington, D.C., January 6, 2011) -- This week the New York Times published an intriguing article on Iraqi efforts to preserve, protect, restore and rebuild the ancient city of Babylon and make it a draw for tourists, with U.S. taxpayer assistance. The Times reports that a modern Babylon museum will open later this month. Reporter Steven Lee Myers also posted a fascinating four minute video walking through some of the rebuilt ruins of Babylon, and explaining Iraqi efforts to protect and restore numerous Biblical sites.

What's more, Times' reporter Stephen Farrell posted an equally compelling three and a half minute video on the tomb of the Hebrew Prophet Ezekiel in the Iraqi town of Kifl, describing how Muslims pray at the tomb of this Jewish prophet, and how the Iraqi government wants to study the site more, preserve the it better, and draw more tourists there. "The Babylon project is Iraq's biggest and most ambitious by far, a reflection of the ancient city's fame and its resonance in Iraq's modern political and cultural heritage," the Times reports, noting that "in November, the State Department announced a new $2 million grant to begin work to preserve the site's most impressive surviving ruins. They include the foundation of the Ishtar Gate, built in the sixth century B.C. by Nebuchadnezzar's father, Nabopolassar, and adorned with brick reliefs of the Babylonian gods Marduk and Adad."

"The American reconstruction team has refurbished a modern museum on the site, as well as a model of the Ishtar Gate that for decades served as a visitors' entrance. Inside the museum is one of the site's most valuable relics: a glazed brick relief of a lion, one of 120 that once lined the processional way into the city. The museum, with three galleries, is scheduled to open this month, receiving its first visitors since 2003."

Of course the Bible talks much about Babylon rising in the VERY last days. So here is one more important sign for all the watchers to pay attention to.

Where are the Bumblebees?

I talked to a beekeeper a few years ago when all the honeybees were disappearing. He said it was the strangest thing. He would be at a hive that was literally swarming with activity and loaded with honeycomb on a Thursday...and when he would come back the next week it was 100% empty! It was so cleaned out that the hive looked like it had been vacuumed!!

Today we find the headlines that tell us there is now an "alarming" decline in bumblebees.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 5, 2011 (Reuters) — Four previously abundant species of bumblebee are close to disappearing in the United States, researchers reported on Monday in a study confirming that the agriculturally important bees are being affected worldwide.

They documented a 96 percent decline in the numbers of the four species, and said their range had shrunk by as much as 87 percent. As with honeybees, a pathogen is partly involved, but the researchers also found evidence the bees are vulnerable to inbreeding caused by habitat loss.

"These are one of the most important pollinators of native plants," Sydney Cameron of the University of Illinois, Urbana, who led the study, said in a telephone interview.

The Bible tells us that famine will wipe out huge amounts of people during the coming Tribulation.

No bees=no pollination=no food growth=famine=huge amounts of dead people.

Cling to Jesus people. The lead up to the Tribulation could be rocky, deceptive, volatile and confusing.

Do the Responsible Thing

Let's review; The U.S. Government is hopelessly out of money. We need to borrow money every single day just to keep our doors open. That being said there is a limit to how much money they are allowed to borrow...it's called the debt ceiling.

Now here's the REALLY funny thing....whenever they reach the ceiling they just keep raising the number. Eight months ago that debt ceiling number was raised, once again, to $14.3 trillion.

We have already hit that ceiling and we need to raise it again. What if the new Republican controlled House decides AGAINST RAISING IT?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States may hit the legal limit on its ability to borrow by March 31 and faces serious consequences unless Congress acts by then to raise it, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Thursday.

"Even a short-term or limited default would have catastrophic economic consequences that would last for decades," Geithner said in a letter to U.S. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid that was issued by Treasury.

He said Treasury could engage in extraordinary measures, such as suspending sales of state and local government securities and thus delay the date by which the debt limit is reached "by several weeks" but preferred not to do so.

"Once these steps have been taken, no remaining legal and prudent measures would be available to create additional headroom under the debt limit, and the United States would begin to default on its obligations," Geithner said.

If that happened, Geithner said, there would be consequences for the U.S. economy "potentially much more harmful than the effects of the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009."

The U.S. Treasury official said the department expected Congress to "do the responsible thing" and to lift the debt limit so that the United States can keep borrowing to fund its daily operating needs.

China Builds Stealth

The front page of the Wall Street Journal is that China may be about to roll out a stealth fighter that would rival our own Stealth F-22. (Stealth means that it can avoid radar detection...so it can drop bombs or shoot missiles without anyone knowing they are even there)

China has reportedly developed a prototype stealth fighter jet to rival its United States counterparts.

The J-20 is said to be years from final completion, according to Japanese media reports, but it is expected to eventually match the United States F22.

Stealth jets have radar-avoiding capabilities and China's J-20 will reportedly be able to reach the US territory of Guam carrying large missiles.

The People's Liberation Army is in the process of a major modernisation and having stealth fighter jets would enable it to rival US airpower in the Asia-Pacific.

Hey...wait a tick....didn't China also just announce they were building a gargantuan aircraft carrier to rival our navy in the Asia-Pacific??

But we also watch the power grow in the hands of the Kings of the East...because Revelation told us that it will.

Dead Birds in Sweden

We will need to watch and see if this dead bird stiff is all related...but evidently some dead birds have been found in Sweden which also show signs of blunt force trauma and seemed to just fall from the sky.

Dead birds have now fallen from the sky in Sweden, adding to the mystery of three US states reporting dead birds falling from the sky in the last few days. This news, along with the 100,000 or more dead fish in the Arkansas River has people wondering if these fallen dead birds are connected?

According to The Local, a news website form Sweden, 50 to 100 birds fell to the ground shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

Faith Based Predictions for 2011

Oh goody!! CNN went and found some people of "faith" what there predictions were for 2011. So of course they had to find comments from the Muslim, the Mormon, the Wiccan priest, the Pro-Gay Christian pastor, and the Rabbi. This sounds like the start of a good joke...doesn't it?

Of course, those of us who believe the words of Jesus can only shake our heads and continue to pray for the lost souls. Remember, CHRIST FOUND US....WE DIDN'T FIND CHRIST....so that no man can boast.

More Dead Birds

Top headline on Fox News is that they found another 500 dead black birds that fell from the sky....this time in Louisiana!

Honestly folks, if you had rented a Hollywood movie and it started with dead birds falling from the sky, strange earthquakes in Indiana and Illinois, freak tornadoes in January, snowstorms in southern California....you would think to yourself, "Wow! I'm glad this is just a Hollywood movie....cuz that's freaky!"

500 More Blackbirds Die, Deepening Mystery

An estimated 500 red-winged blackbirds and starlings were found dead in Louisiana, a local newspaper reported – just a few days and a short distance away from where thousands more plummeted to their death in Arkansas.

The blackbirds in Louisiana littered a quarter-mile stretch of a state highway in Point Coupee Parish, near the city of Labarre, the Advocate reported Monday.

Egypt's Prison of Hate

We first blogged about the shark attacks in Egypt last month....the Egyptians blamed those shark attacks on Israel.

So when 21 Christians were killed in a bomb attack that had all the markings of Islamic extremists....we weren't surprised when the Egyptian lawyer board claimed it was Israel that did it.

Today we have an article about both those events written by Brett Stephens in the Wall Street Journal.

Following the New Year's Eve massacre of a score of Coptic Christian worshippers outside a church in Alexandria, Egyptians are wasting no time fingering the likely culprit.

"With careful consideration," observes commentator Ammar Ali Hassan in the independent daily Al-Masry Al-Youm, "the incident could lead to other interpretations, especially the application of the Zionist conspiracy against national unity in Egypt."

Going one better, Essam El-Irian, a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood, says that while he believes "the Israeli Mossad was behind the incident," he won't rule out the possibility that al Qaeda itself may now be under Israeli operational control. And in a bid for Christian-Muslim unity, Gamal Assad, a Christian member of Egypt's parliament, accuses the perpetrators of "carrying out a Zionist scheme aimed at fragmenting the Arab region as a whole."

All of which leads to the depressing conclusion that Egypt, the country that forged a brilliant path to peace with Israel 31 years ago, is becoming something worse than an anti-Semitic cesspool. It is turning itself into a nation of political imbeciles.

Why Do Birds Fall Down From the Sky?

By now, most of us have heard about the 5000+ blackbirds that dropped out of the sky dead on New Years Eve in Arkansas.

Times Square had the ball drop, and Brasstown, N.C., had its descending possum. But no place had a New Year’s Eve as unusual, or freakishly disturbing, as Beebe, Ark.

Around 11 that night, thousands of red-winged blackbirds began falling out of the sky over this small city about 35 miles northeast of Little Rock. They landed on roofs, roads, front lawns and backyards, turning the ground nearly black and terrifying anyone who happened to be outside.

“It just looked as if it had rained birds,” said Tracy Lightfoot, a member of the City Council, declining to speculate on the reason. “There’s lots of theories running around. I have no idea. I just don’t have a clue.”

What's interesting is to read some of the comments on the numerous articles posted on this event. One person claims he saw a UFO that had just cloaked itself in invisibility...and the birds crashed into it and died. Scientists are telling us that the birds are bruised...so the did collide with something. Others claim this is just one more sign that THE Apocalypse is close.

Who knows? What I do know is that Jesus told us in Luke, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather." Luke 17:37

What Jesus meant by this is; one sign (one vulture) that points to The Last Days doesn't mean anything. But when you see many signs (many vultures) happening all at the same time...the second coming is near.

I wonder if the 100,000 dead fish happening in the same state on the same day are somehow related? The experts say no...but what do the experts know?

End of the World is May 21, 2011

JUDGMENT DAY is feared by the world and is the day that God will destroy the world because of the sins of mankind. The world is correct in believing that Judgment Day will come. The Bible gives us the correct and accurate information about that Day.

Now pay VERY CLOST ATTENTION as to why it will be on May 21.

In 2 Peter 3:8, which is quoted above, Holy God reminds us that one day is as 1,000 years. Therefore, with the correct understanding that the seven days referred to in Genesis 7:4 can be understood as 7,000 years, we learn that when God told Noah there were seven days to escape worldwide destruction, He was also telling the world there would be exactly 7,000 years (one day is as 1,000 years) to escape the wrath of God that would come when He destroys the world on Judgment Day. Because Holy Infinite God is all-knowing, He knows the end from the beginning. He knew how sinful the world would become.

Seven thousand years after 4990 B.C. (the year of the Flood) is the year 2011 A.D. (our calendar).

4990 + 2011 – 1 = 7,000
[One year must be subtracted in going from an Old Testament B.C. calendar date to a New Testament A.D. calendar date because the calendar does not have a year zero.]

Thus Holy God is showing us by the words of 2 Peter 3:8 that He wants us to know that exactly 7,000 years after He destroyed the world with water in Noah’s day, He plans to destroy the entire world forever. Because the year 2011 A.D. is exactly 7,000 years after 4990 B.C. when the flood began, the Bible has given us absolute proof that the year 2011 is the end of the world during the Day of Judgment, which will come on the last day of the Day of Judgment.

Of course the rapture could happen any day, but even if the rapture happened tomorrow, the earth still needs to go through the final seven years of Tribulation AFTER the rapture happens.

"No man knows the day or the hour", says Jesus.

These folks will no doubt be embarrassed and need to reissue some statement on May 22 about how they "forgot" that the Hebrews used a lunar calendar instead of a solar calendar....so then they will need to recalc everything...and then they will come up with some other date.

Of course all of this date setting does much to help discredit all folks who truly believe that we are IN THE SEASON of our Lord's return.

Israel Did It!

A few days ago we posted about more dead Christians being murdered by Muslims in Egypt. Today we have some Egyptian lawyers explaining who was REALLY responsible for this heinous crime....IT WAS THE JEWS IN ISRAEL!

Really, this should come as no surprise since Egypt was also blaming Jews for training sharks to eat tourists...thereby ruining the Egyptian tourist season. (We posted about this a few weeks ago)

A coalition of Egyptian lawyers accused Israel of being behind an terror attack in Alexandria that killed 22 members of the Christian Copt sect attending midnight mass on New Year's eve, Army Radio reported Monday.

"The Mossad carried out the the operation in a natural reaction to the latest uncovering of an Israeli espionage network," the lawyers accused at a rally in memory of the victims, organized by the Egyptian Bar Association, according to the report.

At the gathering, aid to former Egyptian foreign minister Abdallah al-Ashal called for Cairo to reconsider its relations with Jerusalem, according to Army Radio.

Can we see a pattern here? I would say that it is highly likely that Egypt will continue to demonize Jews and Israel because they may soon be joining a war against them....a war referred to in Psalm 83.

Of course, as prophecy watchers we know that "wars and rumors of wars" and "nation against nation" are signs of the very last days. With that being said, we plucked out this one conflict brewing in Lebanon that may trigger the start of Psalm 83 war which could then turn into Ezekiel 38 war.

In addition to Lebanon's internal political unraveling, the country risks sliding back into war with Israel. Nearly five years after the 2006 war, relations between the two countries are both exceptionally quiet and uniquely dangerous -- for the same reason: On both sides of Israel's northern border, the build-up in military forces and threats of an all-out war that would spare neither civilians nor civilian infrastructure, together with the worrisome prospect of its regionalization, have had a deterrent effect on all. Today, none of the parties can soberly contemplate the prospect of a conflict that would come at greater cost to themselves, be more difficult to contain, and be less predictable in outcome than anything they witnessed in the past.
