Last week I spoke to a group about the U.S. money system. As I have with other groups, I explained the relationship between the U.S. federal government, the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve.
When you get to the part where you explain that the Federal Reserve is actually "buying" Treasury Bills and Bonds from the Treasury auctions, you get the questioning look in people's faces.....and then someone usually asks it....."buying them with what?"
It's usually at that realization that a lot of us begin to understand the Ponzi scheme that has become the U.S. government's financial system. It's built on faith and paper....and when the faith vanishes....the paper will be worthless to us and worthless to the rest of the world.
In a strange coincidence, today's headline is trumpeting that Time Magazine has named it's "Person of the Year", .....and the title is going to Ben Bernanke....the chairman of the Federal Reserve.
Now here is the eerie quote from the article;
Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was named “Person of the Year” by Time magazine today for leading the “most-powerful, least-understood government force shaping our lives,” Managing Editor Richard Stengel said.
Did you catch that?? No one understands the Federal Reserve.....but we just gotta keep having faith that this powerful, unknowable force....will continue to pull some levers in some basement someplace....and keep our paper money system going.
As George Michael would sing, "You gotta have faith, faith faith....baby!!!"
Time Magazine went on to say this about Bernanke;
“He was the great scholar of the Depression, and he saw what looked like another depression coming and he decided he would do whatever it takes to forestall that,” Stengel said. “And I think he did. It could have been a lot worse; there were things he could have done better. One of his responsibilities is to put full employment in society and he hasn’t really stepped up on that. But in terms of influence and how the economy went this year, Bernanke was the guy.”
Did you notice he used the word "forestall" and not "avoid". If you look up those words in Webster's you will notice that there is a difference....and "forestall" means that you put the depression off for the moment....but it is still on the horizon.

The Bible tells us that a Depression is soon coming....unlike anyone has EVER seen on planet earth. People will starve because their money simply won't work to buy any food. And when you put the famines, drought and pestilence on top of that collapsed monetary system....it goes a long way in explaining the words of Christ;
"For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive....." Matthew 24:21-22
Lord, save us from the TIME OF TRIAL and deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen.
