Red Heifers Disqualified and More Thoughts About What it Means

I think quite a few of us prophecy watchers were a little bummed when the red heifers flown in from Texas 3 years ago all were disqualified.  What a cool story it was!  So now what?

Prophecy News Watch has some things to say about the matter.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. -- Isaiah 55:8

This week, many believers watched with a mixture of disappointment and reflection as the Temple Institute in Jerusalem declared that the five red heifers brought to Israel roughly three years ago are no longer considered viable candidates for the biblically significant sacrifice needed to purify the future Third Temple. For those who had followed the journey of these rare animals from Texas to the Holy Land, this announcement came as a jarring reminder: God's plans are never late--but they also rarely align with our timelines.

The red heifer, described in Numbers 19, plays a critical role in the purification rites necessary before temple service can be reinstated. Its ashes, combined with water, are to be used for the ceremonial cleansing of those defiled by contact with the dead. Without a perfect red heifer--one without blemish, never yoked, and meeting other strict criteria--the rebuilding of the Temple cannot be fully actualized according to traditional Jewish law. So when these five candidates arrived in Israel in 2022, prophetic excitement surged. Could this be the final step before the long-awaited construction of the Third Temple?

But once again, God has reminded His people: the pace of prophecy is not ours to dictate.

Interpreting Delay: A Lesson in Trust

For prophecy watchers, the heifer setback may sting, but it is by no means the end of the road. In fact, moments like this are essential spiritual checkpoints. They challenge us to reaffirm our trust not in outcomes or symbols, but in the One who holds time in His hands.

We have seen this before. During the Gulf War, prophetic fervor swept through churches across America. Sermons and Bible studies were hastily arranged to explain Saddam Hussein's role in biblical prophecy. Could this be the rise of the Antichrist? Was Babylon being rebuilt before our eyes? For all the questions, speculation, and energy poured into that moment, the fulfillment didn't arrive as many hoped--or expected. And yet, that season stirred many to repentance, prayer, and greater biblical literacy. God used it for good.

Similarly, many recently observed the brief but intense conflict between Israel and Iran, wondering aloud: Could this be the war of Gog and Magog described in Ezekiel 38-39? The alignment seemed close--but not quite. Russia, a key figure in that prophecy, remained a missing piece. For all the intensity, it didn't quite fit. And still, it has deepened our understanding of how closely today's headlines echo tomorrow's prophecies.

Setbacks Are Still Steps Forward

Though the red heifers are no longer considered eligible, it would be a mistake to see this as a prophetic retreat. The broader picture shows the opposite. Jews singing and praying openly on the Temple Mount--a practice once completely suppressed--is no small thing. Temple preparation is ongoing. Priestly garments have been crafted. Utensils have been made. Even the training of Levites has begun. The cultural shift within Israel toward religious expectation is real and accelerating.

We are not going backward. We are simply being asked to wait--and watch--with humility.

Jesus warned that the last days would be marked by wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in various places, lawlessness, and rising hatred. These signs are not meant to cause despair, but awareness. And today, we see all of them playing out globally. Antisemitism is on the rise. Moral confusion clouds the culture. Technology has advanced to the point that the Mark of the Beast, once a mysterious concept, is now not only plausible--it's culturally acceptable. Cashless societies, biometric ID systems, and global digital currencies are discussed openly in international economic forums.

Yet in all this, God is not delayed. He is patient.

As 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us: "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." Each delay is mercy. Every "no" is a preparation for a greater "yes." Even now, the setbacks are sowing seeds of awakening, both in Israel and around the world.

Holding Faith in a Shaking World

Disappointment is dangerous when we let it cloud our confidence in God. But for the believer anchored in Scripture, these moments are clarifying. They strip away emotional hype and leave us with the raw, steady truth of God's Word.

Yes, we are called to watch the signs. But more importantly, we are called to wait well.

The story of Joseph comes to mind--falsely accused, imprisoned, and forgotten. Yet in God's perfect time, he rose to fulfill his destiny. Or consider Moses, delayed in the wilderness for 40 years. Or David, anointed king but running from Saul. Or even Jesus, arriving in history not as a warrior to overthrow Rome, but as a suffering servant to conquer sin.

God's plans are always better than ours, even when the path includes delay.

Still Watching, Still Working

So where does this leave us? Not in despair--but in deeper expectation. We are not to be idle while we wait. We are to be active in sharing the Gospel, in serving the Church, in comforting the weary, and in preparing ourselves for His return.

The invalidation of these red heifers is not the end of the story. It's a pause. A divine comma, not a period. God's timeline has not been disrupted; it's unfolding perfectly.

And when the real red heifer appears--and it will--there will be no ambiguity. Until then, let us hold fast to hope, continue to learn, and live each day as though Christ could return tonight.

Because one day... He will.

"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."

-- Matthew 24:42

Here;  When Prophetic Expectation Is Dashed: Red Heifers Ruled Invalid

Yes!  There will be a red heifer and she could show up tomorrow and we could all say, "Amazing!"

Whenever it happens it will be in God's perfect timing.

Last Days Jerusalem

Great observations by Terry James here.  Having Gay Pride parades in Jerusalem, God’s claimed city, has got to be one more sign that His Cup of Wrath is close.

***************

Israel is the one nation, and Jerusalem is the one city on the planet that God personally reserves unto himself. He doesn’t equivocate; it is His nation and city, and anyone or anything that tries to wrest it from Him will suffer eternal consequences.

We ascertain this when reading verses such as follows:

“…for the land is Mine; for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me” (Lev. 25:23).

“…then I will uproot you from My land which I have given you…” (2 Chron. 7:20).

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it” (Zech. 12:2-3).

The God of Creation, who in reality owns every atom of existence, clearly tells the inhabitants of Planet Earth that these are His geographical places He reserves for himself. The Lord, in warning those who would harm Jerusalem, refers to that city this way: “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye” (Zech. 2:8).

Jesus, the Messiah, said about this city while weeping, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under [her] wings, and ye would not!” (Matt. 23:37).

These and many other Scriptures make it undeniably clear that God loves Israel and Jerusalem. He considers them His personal earthly real estate. He loved them in the past and has great prophetic plans for them. Therefore, He loves Israel and Jerusalem today.

This being the documentable case, I’ve always had a question within the mix of eschatological consideration in which I’ve engaged for a number of decades.

The question: Why the following reference to this divinely designated real estate?

“And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified” (Rev. 11:8).

The reference here is to the two witnesses who will preach to the earth dwellers of the tribulation era. The question that has always ruminated in my mind is why God calls this beloved city and nation “spiritually Sodom and Egypt”?

The people of Israel, before their dispersion and after their modern regathering in the land, have been wicked and done things contrary to God’s will. But so has every other city and nation that has ever existed on Planet Earth.

The condemnation in this Revelation context seems, to my mind, a reference to prophecy yet future. Jerusalem is destined to become as wicked as the ancient city of Sodom and the idol-worshipping ancient Egypt, in God’s holy view. This shouldn’t surprise, considering how the devil is working overtime in every city and nation of the world today.

Satan wanted to usurp the throne of God, e.g., Isa. 14:13-14. It stands to reason –and to scriptural analysis–that the wicked one would want to usurp Christ’s future earthly throne as well. And, for a fact, not even the unbelieving heathens of the world can deny that Jerusalem and the nation of Israel are at the center of global conflict today. It is the most feared potential point for triggering nuclear conflagration on this old troubled sphere.

Lucifer, the fallen one, is certainly working his devilish plan to bring all to Armageddon. This includes his all-out efforts against the apple of God’s eye –the city of Zion –Jerusalem. He will indeed succeed in making Jerusalem spiritually like Sodom. Proof that Satan’s plan is far along in its progress toward that goal is in today’s news.

Since 2006, the efforts have been ongoing to make Jerusalem the center or focus of the Gay Pride organizational drive in Israel. There has and continues to be resistance to that drive. The following report explains somewhat.

May 30 (Reuters) – Jerusalem on Thursday held its annual gay pride parade under heavy security and with a subdued vibe, given the solemn mood in Israel after months of war.

LGBTQ+ supporters marched the streets of Jerusalem carrying rainbow flags, Israeli flags and yellow ribbons, a symbol for hostages still held in Gaza. Absent were the vibrant cheers and music that usually accompany the event. Organizers estimated that 10,000 people marched. Police said some 2,000 officers were on guard.

The turnout was smaller than in previous years. Last year’s parade in Jerusalem was estimated to have drawn 30,000 people.

Netanel Shaler, executive director at Havruta, an LGBTQ+ group for those with a religious leaning, said the goal was to be sensitive to the overall security situation while still allowing people to march…

Some protesters appeared on the sidelines holding signs against the parade. There were no unexpected incidents or violence, the organizers said.

Yair Lapid, the opposition leader and former prime minister, took part in the event. “The march is more important this year than ever,” he said. “Here we are reminded that we are not only fighting for the life of the state of Israel but also for what kind of country it will be. What its values are. What it believes in.”

Things are prophetically setting up for the moment when the man of sin, Satan’s false messiah, Antichrist, sits in a temple atop Mount Moriah, precisely above the spot where the Ark of the Covenant once sat (2 Thes. 2:3-4). He might even sit upon the same Ark, if it is found, or a counterfeit one, declaring himself to be God, and demanding worship (Rev. 13).

So, the grand parade to pervert God’s order of things regarding sexuality will be on full display, no doubt, up until the man of sin sits on Moriah, declaring himself to be God.

They have given it the title “Gay Pride.” Here’s what God says about mankind’s pride –especially that which perverts His creation order:

“The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate” (Prov. 8:13).

Can there be serious doubt that this generation –as witnessed through the events in Jerusalem –stands poised upon the precipice of these Last days?

For the First Time EVER, Men Outnumber Women at Church

In our years-long hunt to scan the headlines, looking for the words “never” and “ever”, we have found many articles.  “Worst flood ever recorded.”  “Most tornadoes ever recorded.”  “We’ve Never seen anything like this.”  We believe all the NEVERS and EVERS are one other clue to the birth pangs that are everywhere, proving that the world is groaning as it awaits its redemption and causing followers of Christ to put on our wedding clothes and put oil in our lamps as we watch for the return of the King.

But this article has nothing to do with the earth groaning and everything to do with a movement from the Holy Spirit as He continues to work and gathers souls from every tribe and tongue.  Praise the Lord!

************************

Across the country, something surprising is happening in churches: rows of young men in their twenties are showing up — and leaning in. These aren't cultural Christians going through the motions. They’re hungry — for truth, structure, and purpose in a world increasingly hostile to all three. As one church leader put it, these men are “faithful, spiritually hungry, and interested in cultivating a deep, personal faith.”

For the first time in American history, men now outnumber women in church attendance — reversing a trend that’s defined the modern church for decades. Among young adults, the shift is even more striking. In the U.K., monthly attendance among 18–24-year-old men has soared to 21%, nearly twice that of women the same age.

The Cultural Shift Beneath the Surface

Why are young men returning?

Part of the answer lies in a growing dissatisfaction with a culture that promised meaning and delivered confusion. These young men have been shaped by a digital age that isolates, a society that mocks faith, and an education system that’s often hostile to biblical values. In response, many are reaching for something deeper.

One pastor noted, “Young men are looking for leadership, they’re looking for clarity, they’re looking for meaning.” Another campus minister observed that Christianity stands out as “the one institution that isn’t formally skeptical of [young men] as a class.” In biblical Christianity, young men are finally discovering hope, truth, and purpose.

Turning From Porn, Turning Toward Purpose

That same hunger for truth is revealing itself in how young men are confronting one of the most destructive forces in modern life: pornography.

A recent study from the Survey Center on American Life found that 64% of Gen Z men (18-24-year-olds) now support restricting online pornography — up from just 51% in 2013. Their views now more closely resemble those of men over 65 than those of their generational female peers.

“Gen Z men have grown up with easier access to pornography than any generation,” said Joseph Backholm of the Family Research Council. “But their own lives and the lives of many people they know prove [how damaging it is]… So, they are reaching the reasonable conclusion that we shouldn’t act like harmful things are innocent.”

In a world that preaches self-gratification and moral ambiguity, these men are pushing back. They’re rejecting the lie that freedom means indulgence — and they’re rediscovering that true freedom is found in Christ.

Finding their Calling

These young men aren’t coming to church for social connection or moral slogans. They’re coming for something real — something eternal. They’re turning to the Savior who demands everything and offers even more.

They’re rediscovering a vision of manhood grounded in biblical truth. They’re finding a call to holiness and freedom in Christ. As Backholm put it: “They’re [discovering that] living the way God intended is what produces good outcomes.”

Young men today desperately need and want the full counsel of God — a faith that speaks to every part of life: how they treat women, how they fight sin, how they lead their families, how they stand in a world that wants to shut them down. They need churches that are compassionate and courageous — willing to walk with them in struggle and call them to holiness.

A Call to Rise

This movement among young men is an encouraging sign of what God is doing among the younger generation. Let us come alongside them as living examples and help them become disciples and transformed followers of Christ. Let us reach out to young people everywhere and offer them the hope of the gospel. All it takes is something as simple as handing out a tract.

Gaza Aid Photos Staged to Control Narrative

We’ve all heard the screams pointed at Israel for “starving the innocent children of Gaza”.  We all know that Hamas would willingly starve its own people for a photo opportunity.  We also know it doesn’t take much fakery to get the godless world to hate Jews and Israel.

*******************

Amidst the international outrage that followed the publication of pictures showing apparently malnourished children in Gaza and the widespread use of photos showing Gaza civilians scrambling for aid, the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung alleges that some of those photos were staged by a Hamas-affiliated photographer.

In a recent article, Süddeutsche Zeitungreported that the Gaza-based photographer Anas Zayed Fteiha staged photos depicting the “real suffering of Palestinians” in a manner that is “in favor of Hamas and its propaganda.”

The newspaper showed a picture of Fteiha apparently staging the civilians in the area where the food would be distributed, making it look as if they were desperately waiting in line for the food distribution. However, as other pictures in the series show, the food distribution did not occur until sometime after Fteiha took his pictures.

The article did not deny the acute hunger among parts of the Gaza population; however, it noted that Fteiha, who works for a Turkish agency, regularly posts anti-Israel and antisemitic content on his social media accounts, and that his pictures often support the Hamas narrative regarding the civilian situation and Israel’s conduct in the war.

The Süddeutsche Zeitung article cautioned that such images make accurately assessing the situation difficult, noting that "at least some of the images were presented in a false or misleading context.”

The newspaper interviewed several experts to provide an opinion regarding the reliability of the images and their use to convey an accurate picture of the situation in Gaza.

One of those, Gerhard Paul, professor emeritus of history and photography expert, who has researched images from Israel and Gaza for 25 years and has traveled to the region himself, said, “I assume that many of these images of starving and sick children are simply staged or come from other contexts.”

“These aren't fakes,” he told the newspaper. “But the people are presented in a certain way or given a misleading caption to mobilize our visual memory and our emotions.”

“The Palestinian side is primarily concerned with emotionalizing Western, pacified societies. And it works brilliantly,” Paul said. “The images also have an additional function: They are intended to overwrite the brutal images of the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Many people don't even remember those images anymore. Hamas is a master at staging images.”

All Texas Red Heifers are Disqualified for Providing Ashes for 3rd Temple

Of course there has been much excitement about these red heifers.  Today we read that non of the five are still qualified to provide the ashes necessary.

The Temple Institute announced on Tuesday that the remaining red heifers that had been brought from Texas by Boneh Israel to perform the Biblically mandated purification ceremony are not suited for the ceremony.

“The three weeks of intensified focus and adoption of customs of mourning over the destruction of the two Holy Temples in Jerusalem have ended,” the announcement read. “But our recap of all the work the Temple Institute is involved with, the one aim of rebuilding the Holy Temple and renewing the Divine service is far from exhausted.”

The Temple Institute described its more than two decades of efforts to find a suitable red heifer. A red heifer is an entirely red female cow with no more than one non-red hair on its entire body. In the language of the Bible, red is not exclusively what we know today as red. It also includes brown and other similar shades of red. This excludes black. All of the hairs on its body must be the same color. The animal must also be two years and one month old. There can be no blemish, no holes in the ear, and it may never have carried a burden.

In September 2022, Boneh Israel, a cooperative effort of Jews and Christians together, found five suitable candidates in Texas and transported them to Israel.

“We have forged deep connections with cattle growers in the United States, both professionally and personally,” the statement by the Temple Institute continued. “We have worked with cattle growers in Israel. We have raised red heifer candidates here in Israel and flown over red heifer candidates from Texas. The halachot concerning the eligibility of a potential red heifer are very strict, and unfortunately, all our efforts so far have been frustrated by the appearance of more than one non-red hair on all our potential candidates. Nevertheless, our efforts continue.”

“Kohanim who are free of the impurity of tamei met (proximity to a dead body) must be located, for only kohanim enjoying such a status can be involved in creating the ashes. This requires kohanim who were home-birthed and have never stepped inside a hospital or cemetery, where the impurity of tamei met is a given. The Institute has successfully located and brought on board eligible kohanim.

“Pure waters from the Shiloach spring located at the foot of the City of David must be collected, and cedar wood, hyssop, and wool dyed red with the tola’at shani insect must also be acquired and added to the ashes. Fortunately, all these elements are readily attainable.

“The actual burning of the heifer must take place on the Mount of Olives at a vantage point from which the kohen performing the ceremony can see into the great entrance of the Temple Sanctuary, (or, at least, where it stood).

“All throughout the Institute’s continuing efforts, tremendous research has formed the basis for every step forward we have taken. Rabbi Azariah Ariel of the Temple Institute has devoted years of his life researching and overseeing all these aspects.”

The announcement described a practice burning that was carried out recently using one of the Texas red heifers that had been deemed unsuitable.

Here;  Temple Institute Announces: All Texas Red Heifers Disqualified  - Israel365 News

For those of us who have been watching this group of heifers and how they may line up for the building and sanctifying of the 3rd Temple, this appears to be a setback.

What we do know is that God will provide in His perfect timing.

Road Signs Appear Pointing to 3rd Temple

Yes, for sure there is a buzz surrounding the idea of building a Third Temple.  The red heifers are still qualified, they practiced burning and collecting ashes, Jews are ascending the Temple Mount like never before and now unofficial signs are popping up pointing to where the Temple will be.

Daniel says there will be a Jewish Temple for the Antichrist to enter.  And the Antichrist won’t be revealed until after the rapture…so keep lifting up your heads!  Our redemption is near!

**************

The buzz surrounding the idea of a 'Third Temple' seems to have gone up a notch. Unofficial road signs are appearing, directing people to “The House of the Lord.” They may be made by rogue sign makers in a guerilla operation, but their very existence signifies that something major is brewing.

Never far from the minds of many Orthodox Jews, the reconstruction of the Temple is something promised in scripture several times in both the Old and New Testaments. What was once dismissed as the pipe dream of fringe radicals is now beginning to crystallize into a tangible possibility within our lifetime – especially amid current discussions of previously unimaginable peace agreements.

Each day, the Jewish people pray the “amida” – a set of blessings said three times a day, facing Jerusalem. The seventeenth blessing, “Avodah” (which means service, or worship) goes like this: "Accept Your people, O Lord our God, and receive their prayer. Restore the most holy service of Your house and accept in love the offerings and prayers of Israel. May the service of Your people Israel always be pleasing to You. May our eyes see You return to Zion in mercy. Blessed are You, O Lord, Who restores His Presence to Zion." The prayers and expectation in Jewish tradition includes faith in the biblical promises of regathering Israel, rebuilding Jerusalem, and the restoration of the Temple.

An end-times Temple is mentioned in the Bible several times in prophetic literature, such as Isaiah 2:2–3, Micah 4:1–2, Daniel 9:27 and Zechariah 14:20, as well in the New Testament in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 and Revelation 11.

It is described as the “Temple of God” and the “House of the Lord of Hosts,” yet it seems from the texts that it will at some point be defiled by the antichrist “standing where he should not stand” as Jesus says in both Matthew and Mark, referring back to Daniel’s prophecy.

The Temple Institute has been campaigning and preparing for the Third Temple since its establishment in 1987. The museum in Jerusalem’s Jewish quarter presents displays of how the First and Second Temple might have looked, with models and replicas of all the accoutrements along with the outfits of the priests. In addition to being an interesting stop for tourists, the Temple Institute is actively pushing for the rights of Jewish people to worship at the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.

Jews Gather to Pray at Temple Mount

The movement to build a Third Temple, exactly where the first and second Temple were, continues to pick up momentum.  They have the desire, they have the red heifers, they have identified the Levitical priests, they have been practicing in a mock Temple, they have all the golden implements made…now they just need the Ark of the Covenant and the go-ahead from some global consortium and they will build it.

*******************

On the Jewish fast day of Tisha B’Av, which mourns the destruction of the First and Second Temples, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir ascended the Temple Mount, joining thousands of Jewish visitors expected to visit and pray throughout the day.

Under Ben-Gvir’s policy, Israeli police have allowed Jewish visitors to sing, pray in the eastern section of the mount, and even prostrate, a significant shift from the longstanding status quo that prohibits overt Jewish worship at the flashpoint site.

Videos from Sunday morning showed dozens of Jewish worshippers singing and dancing openly on the mount. Police did not intervene. In one incident, an Arab man who shouted at a group of Jewish visitors was removed and arrested by security forces.

Associates of Ben-Gvir hailed the moment as “a monumental change that hasn’t happened in a thousand years,” adding that his policy is to ensure freedom of worship for Jews at all sites in Israel, including the Temple Mount. “There is no law permitting racist discrimination against Jews on the Temple Mount or anywhere else in Israel,” they said.

The Temple Mount, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary, is Judaism’s holiest site and Islam’s third holiest. It houses the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. The site remains one of the most sensitive and contested in the region, with tensions often flaring over perceived changes to the fragile status quo.

Ben-Gvir’s visits and policies have drawn sharp criticism from Arab states, international actors, and Israel’s own security establishment, which has warned that shifts in worship policy at the site could inflame tensions and endanger national security. The move has also been condemned by ultra-Orthodox Jewish leaders, who oppose visiting the site on religious grounds.

Despite the criticism, Ben-Gvir has maintained that Jewish worship at the Temple Mount is a matter of basic rights and national sovereignty.

Dividing Israel, Defying God

It won’t go well for the nations who divide and curse Israel.  And yet the world doesn’t know God so they will blindly walk into destruction while thinking they are promoting peace.  “While they are saying, ‘peace and safety’, destruction will come upon them suddenly.”

*******************

This September, the world will take one more dangerous step toward disaster.

At the United Nations General Assembly, a growing coalition of nations—once counted as friends of Israel—will formally push to recognize a Palestinian state. Canada. France. The United Kingdom. Nations who once stood against terrorism are now preparing to reward it with legitimacy, flags, and U.N. seats.

Make no mistake: this is not about peace. It’s about power. It’s about appeasing an ideology that has raised its children to hate Jews and murder Israelis. And it’s about something even more sobering for believers: this is another step to fulfilling bible prophecy.

The Major Powers Behind the Push

France, co-chairing a UN summit with Saudi Arabia, has confirmed it will recognize a Palestinian state this September. Canada—once a bold ally of Israel—has caved under pressure, linking recognition to vague “reforms” within the Palestinian Authority. And the UK has issued an ultimatum: either Israel halts its operations in Gaza and abandons future annexation efforts, or London will proceed with recognition.

These decisions are not occurring in isolation. Ireland, Norway, Spain, Slovenia, and others joined the chorus in 2024. By this fall, more than 147 of the 193 UN member states will recognize a Palestinian state—roughly 75% of the global community.

In other words, the world is uniting to divide the land of Israel.

New Madrid Earthquake Zone in News Again

10-15 years ago we posted quite a few times about the New Madrid fault zone.  When we discovered that it was responsible for a massive quake a few hundred years ago and it’s not in California or Alaska…it’s in Tennessee and surrounding states.  According to FEMA if that fault were to produce the same size quakes of 1811-12 today, USA would be brought to a sudden standstill.

We’ve pontificated that if USA were ever to force Israel to divide its land, God could use the New Madrid to divide ours…right up the middle.

**********************

Today, the 23rd earthquake in the last 4 weeks struck in the heart of an area known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone or NMSZ for short. While it was weak, it serves as a reminder of the area’s violent seismic past –and a warning of its potentially violent seismic future.

December 16  marks the anniversary of first of  three very significant earthquakes to strike this same region during the winter of 1811-1812, a violent time in seismological history of the region that scientists say will be repeated again. While  this latest earthquake was relatively inconsequential, authorities are concerned that people aren’t properly prepared for when a big earthquake will strike this region.  The matter of a larger destructive earthquake in this area is more of a matter  of “when” rather than “if.”  These recent earthquakes have been in the heart of the NMSZ where a significant earthquake will likely happen again at some point in the future.

While the US West Coast is well known for its seismic faults and potent quakes, many aren’t aware that one of the largest quakes to strike the country actually occurred near the Mississippi River. On December 16, 1811, at roughly 2:15am, a powerful 8.1 quake rocked northeast Arkansas in what is now known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone.  The earthquake was felt over much of the eastern United States, shaking people out of bed in places like New York City, Washington, DC, and Charleston, SC. The ground shook for an unbelievably long 1-3 minutes in areas hit hard by the quake, such as Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY. Ground movements were so violent near the epicenter that liquefaction of the ground was observed, with dirt and water thrown into the air by tens of feet.  President James Madison and his wife Dolly felt the quake in the White House while church bells rang in Boston due to the shaking there.

But the quakes didn’t end there. From December 16, 1811 through to March of 1812, there were over 2,000 earthquakes reported in the central Midwest with 6,000-10,000 earthquakes located in the “Bootheel” of Missouri where the New Madid Seismic Zone is centered.

The second principal shock,  a magnitude 7.8, occurred in Missouri weeks later on January 23, 1812, and the third, a 8.8, struck on February 7, 1812, along the  Reelfoot fault in Missouri and Tennessee.
