I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life

The Word of God is so deep and so wide that we can spend our entire lives reading it over and over and yet we will always discover something new.  How many of us have read our Bibles many times but yet see a verse that speaks to us and wonder, "why have I never put that together before?"

If the Lord tarries and we are still here next spring, I will be teaching for three Sundays during Adult Education and the topic will be on the Seven Jewish Feasts and How they point to Christ.  That being said, I had a reader today who submitted some insights into the depth of Christ and the breadth of the Word.  As we know, everything in the Old Testament was meant to point to Christ.  The seven feasts and the Temple are not something only meant for the Jews.  They speak to us today.

Please read and study below.

The Way, the Truth, and the Life in the Temple Pattern

John 14:6 records the words of Jesus: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” These are not abstract categories. They are the three stages of the temple, each fulfilled in Him.

The Way — The Outer Court

The outer court (Chatzer) contained the altar of burnt offering (Exodus 27:1–8) and the laver (Exodus 30:17–21). Sacrifice and washing were required before entry. Christ is the Lamb of God (John 1:29), the door of entry (John 10:9), and the one who cleanses by His word (Ephesians 5:26). This is the way of access.

The Truth — The Holy Place

The holy place (Heikhal) contained the menorah (Exodus 25:31–40), the bread of the presence (Leviticus 24:5–9), and the golden altar of incense (Exodus 30:1–10). These testified of light, word, and intercession. Christ declared, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). He said, “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35). He lives to make intercession (Hebrews 7:25). This is the truth that sustains the worshipper.

The Life — The Holy of Holies

The holy of holies (Kodesh haKedashim) was separated by the veil (Exodus 26:31–33). Inside stood the ark and mercy seat (Exodus 25:21–22). Only the high priest entered once a year with blood (Leviticus 16). When Christ died, the veil was torn from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). Hebrews 10:19–20 states the veil was His flesh. By His death, the life of access to the Father was opened.

The Convergence at the Cross

At the cross Christ fulfilled all three. He was the way by sacrifice. He was the truth by light, bread, and intercession. He was the life by opening the throne room. What were separated stages became one reality in Him.

The Feast Cycle as the Same Pattern

Leviticus 23 defines the moedim, the appointed times. These repeat the same structure as the temple.

• The spring feasts (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits) correspond to the outer court. Christ was crucified as the Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7), buried without leaven, and raised as firstfruits (1 Corinthians 15:20).

• The summer feast (Pentecost) corresponds to the holy place. The Spirit descended as fire, the word was preached, and prayer ascended (Acts 2).

• The fall feasts (Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles) correspond to the holy of holies. Trumpets announce His coming (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17). Atonement points to Israel seeing the one they pierced (Zechariah 12:10). Tabernacles points to God dwelling with His people (Revelation 21:3).

Both temple and calendar follow the same order: court, chamber, throne.

Conclusion

The way, the truth, and the life are not concepts. They are the Chatzer, the Heikhal, and the Kodesh haKedashim fulfilled in Christ. They are the spring, summer, and fall feasts fulfilled in Christ. They are the altar, the lampstand, the bread, the incense, the ark, and the mercy seat fulfilled in Christ. He is the exclusive access to the Father. Hebrews 10:19–20 states the new and living way is through His blood. Colossians 2:16–17 states the feasts are shadows, but the body is Christ. All temple structure and all calendar structure converge on Him. There is no other way.

Don't Look for Democrats to Support Israel Anymore

The Democratic party is really unrecognizable from what it was just a handful of years ago.  Barack Obama campaigned on marriage being one man and one woman for life.  He also deported 3 million illegal immigrants during his time in office.

Bill and Hilary Clinton both were very serious on "If you come to America illegally, you will be sent home!"

But now they are 100% in bed with the ideas that illegals are just folks looking for a better life, gay marriage is celebrated, gay pride month should last a year, men and women are interchangeable, killing babies should be allowed at any age (as long as the baby is still in the womb), white people are basically bad, criminals only exist because of poverty that white people caused, oppressed people are always on the moral high ground and Israel is a pariah that oppresses wonderful neighbors who just want to live in peace.

It wasn’t that long ago that support for Israel, by many Democratic party leaders, was a given. And why not, since their large constituency of Jewish backers tended to vote for them? No longer is that true.

Former U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is one such example.  Not wanting to be out of step with the new direction his party is taking, Buttigieg has done a complete reversal of where he once stood on the issue. Although previously referring to Israel as a “friend who, during difficult times needs support,” in his 2019 bid for the U.S. presidency, today, that friendship has gone sour.

That’s because the Democratic party has chosen to no longer be aligned with the Jewish state – a position which became increasingly unpopular after the October 7th massacre.

As Squad members, the progressive wing of the party, doubled down on their already anti-Israel sentiments, it wasn’t long before others began to see just how disadvantageous it was to side with Israel. That meant that their own personal leanings, guided by their conscience, had to be sacrificed on the altar of conforming to political loyalties.

Pete Buttigieg has gone that route – becoming the latest willing participant, ready to sell out what he once thought, for the grand prize of possibly winning the coveted role of the U.S. presidency in the 2028 elections.  Whatever it takes to sit in the world’s most powerful seat, will be the small price to pay if that’s what’s demanded.

But that new hardline approach says plenty. Because anyone who is able to turn their back, abandoning America’s greatest ally and supporter is someone who is capable of just about anything. When an individual can go from good to evil at the speed of a NASCAR frontrunner, that’s when you realize that the person standing before you is truly an empty vessel.

When heartfelt ideals and long-held convictions are placed on the chopping block, solely on the basis of political expediency, with no regret or remorse, that’s when a candidate’s integrity must be called into question. While people can respect shifting positions, due to justified factors, which no longer make them tenable to support, they will not see it that way when politics is the transparent reason. After all, what has changed when it comes to Israel? October 7th represents the 20-year Hamas doomsday project, aspiring to wield the final death blow to the Jewish Homeland, brutally striking it by surprise. Even before Israel had a chance to hit back, the knives came out by the anti-Zionist ratpack of the Democratic party.

Once defensive operations got underway, it became a little easier to join that off-key chorus by condemning any military retaliation, in an attempt to remove the right for one country to protect its citizenry. On the contrary, such actions were labeled excessive force, viewing them as war crimes, deserving of harsh punishment.

At the same time, Hamas’s unrelenting public relations campaign, aided by the legacy media, did its best to manipulate the public into believing that theirs was a struggle against an oppressor, who colonized stolen Palestinian land. It was a well-packaged presentation which neatly fit into the Woke narrative of today’s youth.

The timing was impeccable, because it seamlessly lined up with the subversive campus resistance which popped up organically and spread throughout the globe, adding a few more nails to the Israeli coffin.

Topping things off was the presidential landslide of Donald J. Trump, just a year after the tragic events of October 7th, causing Democrats to adopt whatever strategy would work going forward. That was discovered to be Democratic Socialism, championed by New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani who was successful in his bid to represent the Democrat party in the upcoming November elections.

Given his history as a virulent opponent of Israel, no one was too surprised when he refused to condemn the chants for a global intifada – a movement which has taken on a life of its own.  Even a couple of days ago, that sleeping giant rose up in great force as an army of thousands stormed the New York borough of Manhattan, calling for “global intifada.”

These anti-Israel demonstrators are literally calling for a violent series of physical attacks on Jews, throughout the world, who have become the targets of evil, necessitating a battle cry against them. So who is leading that charge?

It’s fair to say that the vast majority would be those who identify themselves as Democratic voters. Of course, there are also far-right fringe conservatives who, along with these anti-Israel Democrats have one thing in common.

Both groups are against shipping weapons to Israel and in favor of an arms embargo, which would seriously impact Israel’s chances of being victorious in a war everyone should want her to win.

What both groups fail to realize is that a defeated Israel is a win for terrorism and the Islamization of an unsuspecting world, which naively thinks that they are not the next target in this war to bring each human being under submission to an extreme religious ideology.

It’s almost beyond belief that anyone would think that bloodthirsty, savage terrorists will stop their intifada, the moment that every Jew has been annihilated. That is only where it begins, but certainly not where it ends. Even after every woman is covered from head to toe, becoming invisible behind their burqas, the power struggle will never end, because its appetite for unbridled control is insatiable.

It is with this agenda that the Democratic party has decided to throw in their lot, abandoning a lifelong constituency of loyal Jews who must now internalize that they have become the dreaded enemy.

For those like Pete Buttigieg and others who will need to recalculate their navigational route, if they aspire to gain prominence in the party, it will be at the cost of turning their back upon Jews. But somehow, that doesn’t seem to be a price too high to pay.

Democratic Rep. Valerie Foushee, of North Carolina, has decided that, although she took money in the past from AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby, “she will no longer accept donations for the 2026 elections.”

Foushee figured out that it wasn’t worth it.  In her case, the well-known Beatles song, “Money Can’t Buy Me Love,” is more appropriately entitled, “Money Can’t Buy Me Political Safety.”

Make no mistake!  The Republican Party certainly is not the party of God.  But when Americans are given a choice to vote for the LEAST WORST party/candidates, how could any Bible-believing American possibly believe that Democrats align best with their values?

Trump on Oprah Show in 1988

If you haven’t seen this, take 3 minutes to watch.  It’s 1988 and Oprah and everyone loves Donald Trump.  He says it’s ridiculous that we allow countries to sell their products here but they don’t reciprocate.  He goes on to say that if he was president he would use tariffs to equal the playing field.  Then Oprah teases “would you ever run for President?”

The clip is very prophetic when you consider it was taped 37 years ago!

Mass Extinction of Planet Earth is Coming

Below is an article from a liberal news source called The Guardian.  They scoff and ridicule anything a Bible believer might believe.  Noah’s flood?  Ridiculous!  God as Creator?  Idiotic!  Heaven and hell?  Only weak minded idiots could manufacture such an idea!

Today we find The Guardian prepping their readers for a mass extinction.  This could be one more clue of how close we are to the Great Tribulation if the godless are prepping for all types of crazy weather and global anomalies they will forever refuse to see that it is God himself who is actually sending the wrath.

Revelation 9

The rest of the world who wasn’t killed by the plagues refused to repent

******/***********

Mass extinctions aren’t just very bad things. They are not civilisation-halting pandemics, like Covid-19, that kill far less than 1% of a single species of primate. Mass extinctions are not what happen when the world loses a quarter of its vegetation and a third of North America is sterilised, as happened only 20,000 years ago when mile-thick ice sheets ploughed over Canada. They are not Yellowstone super eruptions, three of which have detonated in a little over the past 2m years – each of which would have devastated modern agriculture and industrial civilisation, but none of which had any effect on global biodiversity. These are part of the bargain of living on Earth. Life wouldn’t have made it this far if it were vulnerable to the sorts of routine indigestion that are part of the workaday operation of a volcanic planet.

But while ours is a sturdy planet, resilient to all manner of unthinkable insults to which it is regularly subjected, once every 50-100m years, something truly very, very bad happens. These are the major mass extinctions when conditions on Earth’s surface conspire to become so vile everywhere that they exceed the adaptive capacity of almost all complex life.

When Pastors Proudly Refuse to Submit to Scripture

We have been wondering this same thing for many, many months;  how can so many Bible readers come to such different views on Israel, the rapture, prophecy and the 1000 year reign of Christ?  We have said that one reason for this is that for 1900 years pastors would read their Bibles and when it would speak about Israel they would think, “Israel was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD and the Jews were dispersed throughout the entire world.  They aren’t coming back to the land promised Abraham, EVER so God must mean something else when He says “Israel”.  He must be referring to the church!”

**********************

During the time I pastored a small church in eastern Iowa, now just over forty years ago, the pastor of the Methodist church called and asked me to come to his office. When I arrived, I saw he had been studying More Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. I remember that he asked me a few questions about the book before telling me that he was a pastor for twenty years before he became a born-again believer.

Last week, the Lord reminded me of his startling confession, and I began wondering what made the difference between knowing God’s Word and the arrival of saving faith. Surely he had often read the Bible and preached from it many times. The answer came as I remembered the book he was reading at the time, one that defended the veracity of Scripture. He now trusted its life-giving message, which led him to believing in Jesus.

Why is it that so many professing Christians refuse to believe the words of Scripture? Jesus said this in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Despite the unmistakable clarity of His message, many insist that He isn’t the only path to eternal life. A well-known “evangelical” pastor teaches that God saves Muslims apart from their belief in the Savior. Why would he make such a statement that not only contradicts Jesus’ words but the entire New Testament?

Many Bible scholars, who are far more intelligent than I, read the same promises that the Lord made to Israel and teach that somehow they no longer apply to the descendants of Jacob. Despite their wealth of knowledge regarding Scripture and its original languages, they don’t believe what the Lord clearly says about the future restoration of Israel. Why is that?

Even fellow believers, who read the same New Testament that I do, ridicule the whole idea of a Rapture. I have heard several pastors, even those who had a solid grasp of the basics of the Gospel, deny that there is such a thing as the Rapture and preach that all believers will die before the Lord returns. They don’t believe what Paul wrote early in his ministry when he expressed his hope that he might be among the saints who would be alive at the time of Jesus’ appearing (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Why do even pastors who claim that the Bible is inerrant go off on tangents that contradict the words of Scripture? I believe there are two key reasons for their unbelief.

A Refusal to Submit to the Words of Scripture

It remains a mystery to me why so many teachers of God’s Word submit to what it reveals about the saving message of the cross, yet refuse to do so when it comes to future things.

Instead of relying solely on what the Bible says about prophecy, many pastors and Christians adopt variant beliefs after reading books that contradict what the Bible says about the future of Israel. One pastor told me he adhered to the belief in a pre-Tribulation Rapture until he read two such books. Now he believes there’s no such thing. For him, human wisdom trumps all that the New Testament says about our future as believers.

During the past several years, I have crossed paths with many pastors and Christians who retrofit the words of Scripture to fit their own wisdom-based beliefs about future things. They say that the book of Revelation is either allegory, past history, or previously fulfilled prophecy up to the point of the White Throne judgment in 20:11. Reliance on their own insight blinds them to the most thrilling truths in all of God’s Word pertaining to our future as the redeemed. They refuse to accept the plain sense of Scripture.

Is it not this same form of unbelief that keeps many pastors from talking about what lies ahead for the saints and the world? They don’t believe that the Lord will honor a willingness to preach all of Scripture, especially such things as the Rapture or Millennium. Gifted preachers attract large numbers of people to their churches, resulting in multiple services and church plants. Their exclusive emphasis on this life, however, leaves their congregations in the dark regarding what lies ahead for the world.

Pride

Another primary reason that keeps many from submitting to the words of Scripture is something we all deal with on a daily basis: pride. It’s something that keeps many people from believing what theologian Jonathan Edwards said long ago, “You contribute nothing to your salvation except the sin that made it necessary.” Pride keeps them bound in their unbelief.

I have often witnessed the bond between pride and a refusal to believe what the Bible says about the Lord’s restoration of Israel and the Rapture. One pastor roared with laughter as I showed him the biblical basis for Israel’s future restoration as a nation. Is it not this same proud spirit that lies behind much of the mocking we endure because of our belief in Jesus’ imminent appearing?

Please know that I struggle with pride on almost a daily basis. I often need to remind myself that it’s only because of the Lord’s grace and great mercy toward me that I have a ministry of writing about our exciting and glorious future as New Testament saints.

In the months following my visit with the Methodist pastor, opposition surfaced in his church because he believed and preached the Gospel. Those opposing forces later succeeded in having him removed as their pastor. Many in his congregation proudly refused to submit to the words of Scripture and persisted in their unbelief regarding the saving message of the cross.

I know most of you experience rejection and ridicule because of your adherence to what Scripture teaches about the Rapture and the fast-approaching Tribulation period. But take heart; Jesus sees and will surely reward your perseverance and longing for His appearing (1 Peter 1:6-92 Timothy 4:8). Perhaps soon, we will all be with the Savior in Heaven with glorified bodies.

No Blacks, No Gays, No Jews

We disagree with the whole concept of white supremacy.  As a follower of Christ there is absolutely no reason to believe that people with less melanin in their skin are less favorable than those with darker skin.  Also we are to bless the Jews for all they have done and will do, that’s biblical.

Here is what I think is interesting about this article that Leftists will read and say, “this is horrible!”;  If Islam were building a town in America where Jews and gays weren’t welcome, the Left would say nothing because to criticize Islam would be islamophobic and everyone already knows it’s a “religion of peace”.

So Gaza can say “no Jews and no gays” and the college Leftists will scream for giving them their own country. “Free Palestine!”  Texas Muslims can open a new development only open to Muslims and the Left will say, “freedom of religion”.  But when white people practice the same traits the Left screams, “racist and homophobic!”

In October 2023, quietly, a small settlement arose in the remote Ozark Mountains in the state of Arkansas in the United States: a whites-only settlement. Return to the Land, this community calls itself, led by Eric Orwoll, a blond man with blue eyes from California, who has attracted hundreds of Americans - amid a disturbing trend of rising antisemitism, and against the backdrop of the rise of the far-right in the U.S. The unique rural settlement has a simple rule: no entry for Jews, no entry for Blacks, no entry for LGBTQ.

"You want a white nation? Build a white town," says Orwoll in one of the long videos he uploaded to his YouTube channel, where he has about 20,000 registered subscribers. "It can be done. We're doing it."
