Elon Musk's Predictions for the Future
Elon is one of the smartest men on the planet. He's also had a pretty good record of seeing what is coming down the road. So when I saw some of his predictions for the not-distant future, I was interested to see what he's saying.
According to Elon, we are heading for a strange new world where robots do practically everything, including operating on you, and where money may become worthless because work will be optional. There will be so much abundance made by these robots that most folks will just stay home and get fat!
God created us to work and to be proud of our work. While many will read his predictions and say, "Fun!", many Bible readers may read this and say, "It sounds like Hell...where you wake up and have no purpose, no accomplishment, no need to wake up at all."
Jesus is in control and He is our blessed hope. Nothing is happening, or will happen, without His permission and allowance.
1. Artificial Intelligence
AI surpassing human intelligence: Musk predicts AI will exceed individual human intelligence by the end of 2026 or 2027, and surpass collective human intelligence by 2029–2031.
AI-driven economic growth: He estimates digital AI alone could add $20–30 trillion annually to the global economy.
AI mastering software development: Musk expects AI to reach “Stockfish-level” coding capability within 12–18 months.
2. Robotics
Billions of humanoid robots: Musk predicts over 1 billion humanoid robots within 10 years, with productivity “five times that of a human.”
Robots transforming labor: By 2030, Musk expects billions of robots (e.g., Tesla Optimus) to make most physical work optional.
Robot surgeons: He forecasts robot surgeons will outnumber human surgeons by 2030.
3. Human Lifespan and Society
Extended lifespans: Musk aligns with predictions that AI-driven medicine could dramatically extend human lifespans or even approach “effective immortality” by the early 2030s.
Work becoming optional: He predicts that by 2030–2040, work will be optional due to AI and robotics creating economic abundance.
Money becoming irrelevant: Musk has said money may “not matter” by 2036 due to technological abundance, though analysts dispute this.
