Jews Now Face “The Greatest Threat EVER”

Jan Markell writes that the sudden turning on Jews AFTER Hamas slaughtered, raped and tortured 1500 Israelis on October 7, 2023, might be one of the most disturbing signs of the lateness of the hour in which we find ourselves.

How is it even possible that Democrats in the USA who champion gay, queer and transgender rights, along with women’s rights, could suddenly favor Hamas?  Don’t they understand that gays, queers and women have almost no rights in Gaza?

The word we keep coming back to is DELUSION.  Once a person rejects God, they can be “given over to foolish thinking and reprobate minds.”  It would appear that’s exactly what’s happening in America.  God help us!

*********************

Let that headline settle in your mind and heart. You don’t even have to be pro-Israel to find it disturbing. And it may be one of the most significant “signs of the times” today.

One of my favorite writers, Jonathan Brentner, states, “The steadily intensifying antisemitism of our day points to the reality of the rapidly approaching Tribulation period. It’s one of the more distinguishing signs of our time because it aligns with so many prophecies that predict hatred for Israel and the Jews during the last days.”

U.S. Democrats

Almost all members of the Democrat Party in Washington have turned on Israel. They have approved financial aid to Israel since 1950 and much more after 1973. In recent years, it has been $3 billion a year—which they now wish to cancel. According to Pew Research, eight out of ten Democrats view Israel unfavorably. Consider that as recently as 2015, most all Democrats were pro-Israel.

When the October 7 slaughter took place, Leftists decided that was the time to switch sides and cheer for the barbarians—not Israel!

The Jews Are on Everybody’s List

Britain’s most senior police officer warned that antisemitism has reached unprecedented levels, saying Jewish communities face their greatest threat to date as authorities confront a series of attacks and rising tensions. It is not uncommon today to hear people state that the Jew-hatred of the 21st Century is comparable to the hatred that led to near genocide of the Jews in the 1930s.

Mark Rowley, head of the Metropolitan Police, said British Jews are being targeted by a wide range of extremist actors, which he linked, in part, to the influence of social media. He states, “The ghastly fact is that Jews are on everybody’s list, all of those hateful groups, whether you’re extreme right, whether you’re extreme left, whether you’re Islamist terrorist, whether you’re right-wing terrorist,” he told The London Times.

Bad Theology Leads to Anti-Semitism

Pastor Gary Hamrick of Cornerstone Chapel in Virginia writes, “In the year following the Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas, over 10,000 antisemitic incidents were recorded in the U.S.—an increase of 140% over the previous year—and the most ever since the Anti-Defamation League began tracking antisemitic acts in 1979. On college campuses, in workplaces, among ‘influencers’ and politicians, even in some circles of the church, antisemitism is raising its ugly head.”

Hamrick continues, “We’re seeing pastors today who refuse to support Israel because they’ve been influenced by replacement theology’s faulty interpretation of Scripture, and there are terrible repercussions for giving place to this damaging theology. When the church entertains the idea that God has somehow replaced His covenant with the Jewish people, it provides fuel for the fire of those who would do Israel harm.”

And never forget that it was replacement theology that allowed many in Germany to go along with Hitler’s slaughter of the Jews.

Dark and Disturbing

The outstanding online Christian newspaper Harbinger’s Daily reports, “Once again, Canada has received a failing report card on its treatment of its Jewish community. The results were not only terrible—the findings were dark and disturbing.”

Writer Robert Gottselig of Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry in Canada concluded in the Harbinger’s Daily article, “The report described Canada as facing a ‘national crisis of antisemitism.’”

“Fleeing” to Israel for Safety?

From 2021 to 2025, antisemitic incidents increased by 46% in Argentina, 60% in Canada, 64% in the United Kingdom, 124% in France, 131% in the United States, 215% in Germany, and 270% in Australia. As the headline to this article states, this is the greatest threat to Jews ever because this time it is global.

From Argentina to Australia, Jewish people across the globe report hiding their Jewish identity in public and questioning whether they have a future in their home countries. And yes, God allows some of this calamity as it drives many of them home to Israel. Indeed, tens of thousands are seeking safety in Israel.

What You Can Do

Robert Gottselig makes the following suggestions to Bible-believing Christians: “Reach out and stand with the local Jewish community. Go to your local synagogue, call the rabbi and take him for lunch or coffee. Tell him that, as a Bible-believing Christian, you love and stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”

He concludes, “Support ministries like the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry that bless Israel and share the gospel—the good news of Israel’s Messiah— with the Jewish people. Above all, be a Christlike witness, responding with truth from God’s word, compassion, and courage.”

How Odd of God to Choose the Jews

And always “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6). It is, in fact, a commandment! Christians may be their last loyal friend. Someone once wrote: How odd of God to choose the Jews, but not so odd as those who choose the Jewish God, yet spurn the Jews.

The AI Cold War is Already Upon Us

Last week the CEO of an AI company warned than AI could kill us all in less than 10 years.  Of course, as we have already said, it won’t take long for AI to realize that humans are the source of every problem on earth and to realize that wiping them off the planet would be the best thing for AI and the earth.

Back in the 1950’s we had another technology that was going to kill us all;  nuclear weapons.  The race for who was going  have them and how we we going to defend against them was nothing short of WHO was going to rule the world with military power.

Today we witness a similar Cold War.  It’s a race for who is going to have the smartest AI so their AI can run the robotic soldiers, missiles, guidance systems and hacking systems to wipe out your enemies and rule the world.

That’s why data centers are going to pop up everywhere…because AI needs them.

And yes, Satan and his minions will 100% be in the AI brain.

China’s reaction to a recent warning from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei revealed how quickly the debate over artificial intelligence has become a struggle for global power.

Amodei urged democratic nations to slow the development of the most dangerous frontier systems while preventing China from closing the technological gap. Beijing’s state-backed Global Times responded by accusing him of disguising an American containment strategy as concern for public safety. It called his proposals a “Cold War playbook” intended to preserve U.S. dominance and restrict China’s technological rise.

The accusation may have been intended as a rebuke, but it also described the world more accurately than Beijing probably intended.

The AI Cold War is already here.

The Logic Of The Arms Race

During the original Cold War, the United States could not simply abandon nuclear development and trust the Soviet Union to exercise similar restraint. If one nation gained an overwhelming technological advantage, it could threaten, intimidate or possibly defeat the other.

Artificial intelligence is creating the same dilemma on a far broader scale. The nation that achieves a commanding AI advantage may gain more than a superior weapon. It could acquire the ability to penetrate enemy networks, accelerate weapons research, control autonomous military systems, manipulate foreign populations and outperform competing economies.

President Donald Trump summarized the stakes bluntly: “Whoever wins AI wins.”

America’s political leaders can debate how quickly AI should advance and what guardrails are necessary. What they cannot do is assume that China, Russia, North Korea, Iran or any other adversary will stop developing it simply because Washington decides the technology has become too dangerous.

Every American attempt to slow down risks becoming an opportunity for someone else to surge ahead.

More Difficult To Contain Than Nuclear Weapons

Nuclear weapons require enriched material, specialized facilities, missile systems and an enormous industrial footprint. Governments can monitor uranium shipments, photograph launch sites and inspect suspected nuclear facilities. Even a stolen weapons design must still be transformed into a functioning bomb.

AI can cross borders as code.

Advanced capabilities can be stolen through cyberattacks, copied by insiders, extracted through repeated interaction with existing models or recreated by rival laboratories. Anthropic recently said it uncovered industrial-scale efforts by three Chinese AI companies—DeepSeek, Moonshot and MiniMax—to extract Claude’s capabilities to improve their own systems.

American security agencies have also warned AI companies to defend themselves against foreign knowledge-distillation campaigns intended to close the technological gap. The struggle is no longer limited to research papers and semiconductor production. It includes espionage, model theft, computing infrastructure and the race to attract the world’s best scientists.

The Manhattan Project required guarded installations and thousands of workers. The next strategic breakthrough could be sitting on a server waiting for someone to steal it.

Diesel Fuel Tops $6/gal Reaching an All Time High

At our local Kwik Trip yesterday, we saw the green numbers advertising the price of diesel fuel and it read $6.29 per gallon.

I think most of us realize that every item in that Kwik Trip was delivered by a big truck burning diesel fuel.

Go across the street to Menards and every piece of lumber, every light fixture, every gallon of paint and every other item in the entire store was delivered by a big truck burning diesel fuel.

If you want to understand one reason prices have gone up on everything, look no further than the green numbers at your local gas station.

Also note that this price is the highest it’s EVER been.

******************

The nationwide average price of diesel hit $6 per gallon Friday for the first time, an ominous record for the fuel that powers much of the U.S. economy.

The price was $6.05 as of Friday morning, according to data from motor club AAA. The national average price of regular gas was $4.29, up 15 cents since last week.

“From running a farm ... [to the] cost of food, but also everything across the economy that’s shipped,” she said. When diesel prices rise, everything “gets that extra fee tacked onto it.”

Swonk predicted that the high cost of diesel will be an “inflationary problem” for months to come.

Since late July, diesel prices have been rising higher and faster overall than the cost of regular unleaded gas.

That’s because key refineries that produce it have been knocked offline or destroyed, both in Eastern Europe — where the Ukraine-Russia war still rages — and in the Middle East.

And while all forms of fossil fuels this year have been affected by the blockade of the Strait of the Hormuz, diesel differs somewhat from crude and unleaded gas because of the central role Russian refineries play in the global supply.

Russia typically exports more diesel than any other country, save for the U.S. But damage to its refineries from Ukrainian drones forced the Kremlin to impose a sweeping diesel export ban in July that will remain at least through the end of September.

“Consumers should be prepared to pay higher inflation for anything that requires being shipped,” Joseph Brusuelas, chief economist at the RSM management consulting firm, told NBC News.

‘Economic carnage’

Groceries are likely to be especially sensitive to higher diesel prices, Brusuelas said, in part because many supermarkets are already operating on razor-thin margins owing to the high cost of beef.

Beyond the supermarket, however, grocery prices will also reflect the rising cost of diesel across the entire food supply chain, starting with farmers.

The impact of $6-per-gallon diesel will make it even harder for some U.S. farmers, already under pressure this year from a fertilizer shortage, to stay afloat.

“It’ll push me right to the edge,” said Mark Mueller, a fourth-generation Iowa farmer. “If I don’t get pushed over the edge by diesel fuel prices, higher fertilizer prices will push me over the edge because a lot of petroleum goes into fertilizer prices, as well.”

An Epidemic of Presenting Darkness as Light

The Bible speaks of consciences being seared in societies that reject God.  America seems to be well down that path.  Trading darkness for light.  Calling evil good and good is called evil.

To my Ahmillennial friends who think that the world is going to get better and better and finally become so filled with righteousness that King Jesus will return and say, “Good job guys!  You’ve made it so good down here that I’ve come to join you!”…you have a LOOOONG way to go if that’s your beliefs.

For those of us who know the rapture will come upon a wicked world to snatch us from God’s wrath before all hell breaks loose, we will keep looking up and saying “come Lord Jesus!”

******************

Presenting darkness as light and light as darkness is contagious — and it has become an epidemic. This is Isaiah 5:20 thinking. “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” “Woe” can be seen here as a warning. The New Living Translation puts it like this: “What sorrow for those who say that evil is good.” The NIV Reader’s Version says, “How terrible it will be for those who say that what is evil is good!”

A significant portion of Americans have lately shown a tendency to justify and even celebrate evil. Lots of Americans cheered the assassination attempts against President Trump. Luigi Mangione, the accused murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, became a celebrity-hero with thousands of adoring fans. For many on social media, the murder of Charlie Kirk has become a joke — something to delight in.

Against a backdrop of Americans treating human life as cheap and violence as an easy solution, came the story of Lindsay Clancy and the brutal killing of her three small children. The jury deadlocked 11-1, with the majority favoring a “not guilty by reason of insanity” verdict. I try not to judge juries too harshly. They sat through the grueling evidence, not me. They heard an orderly presentation of the facts, and I heard only news accounts — often sensationalized in the form of clickbait.

The one advantage those of us outside the jury have in our favor is that it may be easier for us to keep sight of the big picture. An anonymous juror told CBS, “The prosecution didn’t have a figurative smoking gun. There was not a single moment throughout the presentation of that case where you could say, ‘Yup, 100% I’m certain she did it.’”

Yet all sides agree that “she did it.” She killed the children. The question is about her state of mind. Maybe that’s what the juror was talking about, but that’s not at all how she said it. Most states and the federal government say that because insanity is an “affirmative defense,” it must be proved by the defense. But in Massachusetts, it falls on the prosecutors to prove that the accused had “the substantial capacity either to appreciate the criminality or wrongfulness of her conduct” — no easy task.

To me, the fact that she used errands to purposefully keep her husband out of the house while she killed the children, demonstrates an awareness of the “wrongfulness of her conduct.” He would see it as wrong and stop her, so she kept him away. But I’m neither a lawyer nor a psychiatrist. I can’t begin to understand the pain of postpartum depression, much less postpartum psychosis.

We lean toward psychiatric explanations because it’s unnatural for a mother to cold-bloodedly scheme ways to keep her husband out of the house, then, over a period of eighteen minutes, take her three precious children, one at a time, to the basement of their home, and strangle each one. Moms don’t do that. Moms don’t violently kill their kids — unless the child is still in the womb.

And that, more than anything else, is what worries me. Is this case an extension of abortion, if only subconsciously? Do some people side with a mother who killed her children because they want to avoid doing anything that might limit the right of mothers to end their children’s lives? Have we come to that?
