Data Centers Are Vital to Our Way of Life

Where do all the photos get stored from your iPhone?  How does Siri respond when you ask her a question?  How does the internet work when you open up your laptop and start typing?  Answer;  it’s all possible because of data centers.

They are going to get built.  They need to get built.  If we are going to lead the world in AI technology and win the next Cold War, we need data centers.

“Well I don’t want one in my backyard!”

Yes, I understand that.  Most people don’t want garbage landfills in their backyard either but those same folks still want all their garbage hauled somewhere out of their sight and dumped on the ground.

I saw Trump speaking yesterday and he said, “smart communities want data centers.  Not-so-smart communities don’t want them.”

I do want to add that we are fully aware that the beast will use the machine of AI to deceive and rule the world.  It’s coming cuz the Bible tells us so.

***********************

Last week I took a daylong field trip touring a giant data center near Dulles International Airport in Loudon County, Virginia.

The “cloud,” by the way, is the hardware that stores trillions of data files, research, love letters, the entirety of the Library of Congress and virtually everything else ever written, invented or retrievable online.

The cloud is synonymous with “data center.”

Many people don’t realize that without these massive data centers — that have somehow been demonized by everyone across the political spectrum from Elizabeth Warren to Steve Bannon — there is no internet, there is no data storage, there are no iPhone apps, there is no GPS, there is no missile defense system, there is no Uber, and there are no Amazon deliveries.

I am well aware that Americans are very split on the benefits of data centers, and the majority of voters say they don’t want one anywhere near their community. I’m in favor of letting voters of every community decide whether they want a data center or not.

But I also believe that if people actually visited a data center, as I did, they would be astounded by the jaw-dropping technological wizardry that lies within.

If you get the chance to tour one of these facilities, take it. And take your kids.

These data centers are multibillion-dollar industrial and engineering marvels. They (SET ITAL)are(END ITAL) the central nervous system of our future communications, commerce, health care, entertainment and national defense.

The data center I visited stores two football fields of state-of-the-art equipment that keeps the internet functioning and records and responds to billions of online tapping around the globe every minute. The speed and efficiency of these operations is mind-numbing. Contrast it with 1950s telephone switchboard operators connecting every phone call manually. Data centers are doing billions of transactions and computations across the country to service tens of millions of users every minute.

I wish I could have taken photos, but they are not permitted. Data center companies spend millions of dollars on security. They are rightly worried about drone attacks or Chinese espionage. If a terrorist took out a handful of our data centers, our economy would crash.

The Virginia data center pays way more than its fair share for the energy it uses and has lowered costs for homeowners and local businesses. That should be standard practice for all future facilities.

It provides more than a thousand jobs and helps pay for the schools, parks, police, hospitals and Little League fields.

I have rarely seen so many construction workers, heavy-load trucks and massive Caterpillar machines, and I don’t even know what they do. This is economic progress. It is the future of our digital economy.

I can’t help wondering what would have happened if Henry Ford confronted anything like the anti-data center movement over 100 years ago when he came to Michigan to build auto plants. What if people had blocked the plants from being built because they were too noisy, used too much energy and water, and polluted the air?

Then I wonder how angry Americans would be if they couldn’t access the internet or all their private information, or if their phones and computers didn’t work.

Over the next decade, we need to build about three times as many data centers as we have now. If we don’t build them, we fall behind technologically. America can’t let that happen.

Most Palestinians Have Picture of The Dome of the Rock in Their Homes

July 22nd was the day Jews remember the destruction of the First and Second Temples. When the Muslims took over Jerusalem they wanted to show dominance over the people they had conquered so they go to the holiest place (The Temple Mount) and build a mosque.  They also built the Dome of Rock.  This dome covers a rock that they believe Muhammad landed on after flying his horse from some far away place.  Yes, Muhammad had a flying horse named Buraq.

This from Wikipedia;

“The name of Prophet Muhammad's flying horse is al-Buraq. In Islamic tradition, it was a celestial, white, equine-like creature that served as his mount during the Isra and Mi'raj (the Night Journey) to transport him from Mecca to Jerusalem and up through the heavens.”

So Israeli soldiers understand they are fighting for history and their homeland.  They know that Solomon built a glorious Temple on that spot and they know the Muslims believe a lie which makes control of that Mount vital to their religion.

But we know that a 3rd Temple is coming.

What does Gaza have to do with Jerusalem?

Apparently, quite a lot.

During the ongoing operations against the Hamas terror group in Gaza, IDF soldiers have reported a striking and recurring sight inside Arab homes: pictures of the Dome of the Rock, the Islamic shrine located on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

While the pictures are meant to inspire Muslims, ironically, for many Jewish soldiers, they serve as a powerful and unexpected reminder of what they are fighting for: the connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem and the ancient Jewish Temples.

One soldier recounted, “When I saw that picture on the wall, it hit me. They have a symbol of their claim to our holiest place. It made me realize that this fight is not just about territory; it is about our history and our future on the Temple Mount.”

Another soldier shared, “We are fighting in their tunnels and their homes, and they have pictures of the Dome of the Rock hanging up everywhere. It reminded me that we are fighting for the right to pray at the Kotel and to one day see the Temple rebuilt.”

A third soldier reflected, “Every time I see that image, I think of the Beit HaMikdash. It strengthens my resolve. We are not just soldiers; we are guardians of a 3,000-year-old dream.”

This sentiment is physically expressed through a popular item among troops: the “Mashiach” patch, which features a silhouette of the Jerusalem Temple paired with the Hebrew word for Messiah.

Since October 7th and the subsequent war, these patches have surged in popularity among IDF soldiers as a powerful symbol of heritage and faith.

One initiative, the Patch Project, distributes these patches to soldiers on the front lines as a “meaningful reminder of what we really fight for.”

The timing of these discoveries and the wearing of the patches is deeply resonant with the Jewish calendar.

Tisha B’Av, the “saddest day on the Jewish calendar,” is a 25-hour fast that commemorates the destruction of both the First Temple in 586 BCE and the Second Temple in 70 CE and marks the beginning of the 2,000-year exile from the Land of Israel.

In 2026, Tisha B’Av begins at sundown on July 22.

University of CA Chancellor Testifies that All Pregnancies Aren’t in Women

How tragic!  Supposedly our most learned academia, the ones in charge of teaching todays youth and shaping the future of our country, have totally sold out to “woke” demands.  Here we read of a chancellor that testified to Congress his knowledge about pregnancy and how not all of them happen in women.

***********************

During witness testimony before a congressional committee examining the impact of forced “diversity,” preferential (non-merit-based) admissions, and “woke” ideology upon the quality of medical schools, the chancellor of UC San Francisco testified under oath that not all pregnancies come from women.  That chancellor, Samuel Hawgood, is not some administrative bureaucrat with a made-up bachelor’s degree in the discriminatory effects of man-made “climate change” upon “transgender” Pakistanis (and an obligatory master’s in why American taxpayers must foot the bill for all “sex change” surgeries around the world).  No, Hawgood is an actual pediatrician who previously served as UCSF’s dean of the School of Medicine.  A man who did his residency at the Royal Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Brisbane cannot tell us how babies are made.

It is astounding to watch just how far down the propaganda rabbit hole so-called “institutions of higher learning” have dragged society.  Until very recently, this kind of public display of sophistry would have embarrassed an intellectual of the lowest order.  For a medical doctor and university chancellor to pretend that men can get pregnant is a flashing neon sign warning just how corrupt and dishonest all of academia has become.  These days, university leaders sound indistinguishable from North Korean spokespeople assuring starving citizens that they are better off than anyone else in the world.

How did we get to this point in time when professors tell rank lies to the American people, while hiding behind their titles as false evidence that those lies are somehow “truths”?  Well, social media favorite “Oilfield Rando” points to part of the problem.  In an X post responding to the doctor’s pseudoscientific testimony, Rando includes an itemization of Chancellor Hawgood’s university pay and accompanying benefits.  The man in charge of one of the country’s top educational institutions takes home well over a million dollars each year.  Unless Chancellor Hawgood is a moron who genuinely believes men can get pregnant, it is likely that he is willing to sell his intellectual reputation and personal honor for a seven-figure salary.

What does that say about the current state of our society?  The modern university arose from Christian monasteries dedicated to God’s truth.  This is why divinity degrees are generally accorded highest honor during processions accompanying graduation ceremonies.  As monasteries developed into secular institutions of higher learning, they remained places dedicated to the pursuit of truth.  Harvard’s motto, veritas, simply means “truth.”

For hundreds of years, faculty members did not take positions on college campuses because they sought fame or fortune.  They became scholars and professors because they were dedicated to the rigors of their calling.  Just as a Christian monk lived in poverty because the pursuit of truth provided spiritual nourishment and personal fulfillment, a scholar embraced a penurious life within academia in exchange for the privilege of seeking authentic truth.  The reward — unvarnished enlightenment — was understood to be more valuable than money.

NYC Mayor, Mandami, Looks for Opportunity to Arrest Netanyahu

It’s still hard to believe that the Big Apple voted in a Muslim as mayor.  How is this possible after Muslim terrorists blew up the city on 9/11?  And now we have a Jew-hating mayor with his Jew-hating wife elevated to be the Prince and princess of New York City.  Muslims around the world look at this and cheer while understanding this was a huge first step in the Islamic takeover of America.

Meanwhile the Leftists in America still are hung up on “Free Palestine!”  This is just one more example of how godlessness on the Left has led them into delusion.  It seems God has given them over to a depraved mind that seems incapable of grasping even the most basic common sense.

Romans 1

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he’s desperately seeking a legal loophole to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged war crimes when he visits in NYC in September.

The Pro-Palestine, Israel-hating, socialist pol said in an interview published Saturday that it’s unclear whether he has the authority to order the NYPD to arrest Netanyahu during the prime minister’s expected trip to the Big Apple for the UN General Assembly – but is in an “active conversation” with the city’s Law Department about the matter.

“I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague,” Mamdani bluntly told The New York Times, referring to the United Nations’ International Court of Justice.

“He’s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court. And what you will find is that it is an opinion that is held by many purely because of what his actions have wrought over these last many years.”

Mamdani – who has made accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza a focal point of a far-left ideology that has helped propel him into the national spotlight  – vowed during last year’s campaign that, if elected mayor, he’d have Netanyahu arrested if he ever set foot in NYC.

He cited the International Criminal Court’s 2024 arrest warrant for Netanyahu — which the U.S. doesn’t recognize.

However, Mamdani insisted during The Times interview that the city “won’t be writing our own laws” to lock up the prime minister, who is seeking re-election.

“Whatever the law allows me to do in New York City, that’s what we will do,” he said.

During the interview, Mamdani also complained about media coverage of his wife Rama Duwaji, who has come under fire for her long history of bashing the United States and Israel.

This includes since-deleted social media posts praising Palestinian terror groups and others attacking US service members for assisting the Jewish State.

The Syrian-American artist also once liked a social media post claiming Hamas’ rapes of Israelis during the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack were a “mass hoax.”

“She is her own person,” Mamdani said. “She is an incredible artist, and yet so much of how she engages with the world is framed through her being my wife.
